The Enviro-Care® Flo-Minutor provides innovative comminutor/channel grinder technology for effective liquid-born solids reduction. Offering unparalleled advances in design, the Flo-Minutor far surpasses vertically shafted comminutors by providing efficient, low maintenance operation. The Flo-Minutor comminutor outperforms traditional comminutors by vigorously reducing liquid-born solids. The Flo-Minutor features a single, horizontally shafted conical rotor assembly made of concentric stainless steel rings, equipped with hardened steel cutters. A hydraulic motor and simple chain drive effectively power the rotor. The Flo-Minutor's cutters are staggered so that 100% of the cutting force is exerted on each cutter as it engages with the knife. This powerful scissor action swiftly reduces even the most stubborn solids and then the particles are transported through the ½" (12.7mm) spaced conical rings by the flow. Throughout the process, the PLC controller detects jams, then initiates an auto-reverse and restart cycle to discharge solid obstructions and return to normal operation. Unlike vertically shafted comminutors, where blades and bearings experience uneven wear and tear resulting from heavier grit, sand and gravel exposure to the lower blades, the Flo-Minutor horizontal shaft design maximizes reliability through even cutter and bearing wear for longer life. The Flo-Minutor keeps maintenance costs low, as cutters are uniform in size and easily replaced, and all components are readily accessible. Installation is simple with rugged cam locks that quickly secure the Flo-Minutor into an open channel without costly plant modifications. |
